This was shot in Shanghai, in the summer of 2019, and it was for a major English DJ trap artist. Now the concept of this music video was interesting, because we needed to create a world that goes in reverse while our main character was the only one moving forward.

Now in order to do that, we were rehearsing with the actor, walking him through how he needs to walk backwards, in order for when we reverse the image, it to look like he is properly walking forward.

Most of the extras you see in this music video are just innocent bystanders, which came in really well, because we needed this feeling of everybody watching our main character, who are trying to realise what the hell is he doing and why isn’t he walking backwards like them.

I think the biggest challenge of this project was to try and imagine the shot and then reverse it in my mind, so that I can shoot it in reverse so then when it’s flipped it’s just like I imagined.
